Luna and Solar Building, Wembley Park

Solar and Luna Building NE02/3, Wembley

A pioneering low-carbon development in one of London’s most successful regenerations

Location London, UK

At Wembley Park's North Eastern Lands, Quintain's latest development, NE02 and NE03, integrates valuable podium and rooftop landscapes to enhance the urban environment.

Our landscape design aims to create distinct, inviting spaces that blend naturalistic elements with modern amenities, promoting biodiversity and resident well-being.

The podium landscape features a clear hierarchy of spaces, each with its own identity. Enclosure is achieved through wide areas of perennial, shrub, fern, and grass planting, forming a linear belt of multi-stemmed trees that provide privacy for private terraces.

The design incorporates mounded landforms and strong geometric patterns to create a naturalistic feel.

Central to the space are areas for doorstep play for children aged 0-4, including bespoke play structures designed in collaboration with Play Equip, surrounded by deep planting beds that enhance the sense of depth and seclusion.

The rooftop terraces are divided into distinct landscapes, each offering additional amenity space. These terraces function as garden rooms, offering flexible spaces for gatherings and individual contemplation, with unobstructed views and year-round usability.

Additionally, the rooftops include inaccessible biodiverse areas that provide habitats for birds and invertebrates, supporting the site's overall greening strategy.

The landscape design promotes biodiversity through wildlife-friendly planting at both podium and rooftop levels. The inclusion of extensive biodiverse rooftops and ornamental planting contributes to the site's urban greening factor (UGF).

This approach enhances the environmental quality of Wembley Park, creating a vibrant, sustainable community space.

Our design at NE02 and NE03 underscores the commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and resident enjoyment, ensuring that the landscapes are both beautiful and functional.
