Located within Cambridge University’s Grade II* listed Botanic Garden, the Sainsbury Laboratory brings together over 150 world-leading plant science researchers addressing some of the greatest challenges of the 21st century.

The 11,000 sqm facility comprises laboratories, a herbarium, public café and a 150 seat auditorium. The pioneering work carried out in the controlled environment growth rooms provide a fundamental understanding of how plants grow and develop and bring together world-leading scientists in a collaborative working environment.

This multiple award-winning project, collected the 2012 RIBA Stirling Prize and a nomination for the 2013 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award.
